After a citywide transition to remote instruction on February 1–2, all NYC district elementary, early childhood education, and District 75 buildings will be open on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. All programs and activities will be held as scheduled.
Due to expected severe weather conditions, all New York City public school buildings will close and transition to remote learning on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. All students will be expected to log on to their online classrooms and engage with their school work from home.
After a citywide transition to remote instruction on 12/17, all NYC public school students in grades 3K–5 and District 75 will return to in-person learning on Friday, December 18, 2020. Students in grades 6–12 will continue to learn remotely.
The New York City Department of Education (DOE) is the largest school system in the United States, with over 1.1 million students taught across more than 1,800 schools by 75,000+ teachers. The DOE covers all five boroughs of New York City.
