NYC families: it’s time to hear from you!
Released every year, the NYC School Survey provides City families, teachers, and select support staff members in public schools grades 3-K through 12, and students in grades 6–12, the opportunity to provide feedback about their experiences in NYC public schools. By completing this survey, you can help our schools better understand what their students and community members think about their learning environments, curricula, support services, and more. In fact, the information you provide can help foster conversations within your school community that will result in making your school a better place to learn!
The majority of the survey is aligned to the six elements of the DOE’s official Framework for Great Schools, which underpins how we partner with our schools in support of student achievement.
Taking the 2022 NYC School Survey
- If your child is in grades K–12, you will need your child’s nine-digit student identification number, or OSIS, to begin filling out your survey online. You can find the OSIS on your student’s report card, school ID card, or on their NYC Schools Account. Once on the survey page, you must enter “f”, followed by your child’s OSIS to access the survey. Note that the “f” must be lowercase.
- If your child is in 3-K or Pre-K, please contact your child’s school or program to receive your survey access code.

Survey results will be shared with DOE staff members this summer to support our preparation and planning work for the 2022–2023 school year. The DOE will release the 2022 survey results to the general public in fall 2022.
