Then we’ve got great news: your child’s pre-K offer is now available!
Families with children born in 2018 who applied for any of the City’s pre-K programs earlier this year can now view and accept their child’s offer online. Visit MySchools to view your child’s offer letter— it will include basic information about your child’s pre-K program offer, how to accept the offer, and information regarding schools where your child has been automatically waitlisted, if applicable.
If you opted for print notifications, a copy of your child’s offer letter will be mailed to you.
There are two ways that your child can be on programs’ waitlists:
Automatically, before waitlists open
If your child did not receive an offer for their first-choice program, they are automatically placed onto the waitlist for any program listed higher on their pre-K application than the program listed in your child’s offer letter.
Optionally—added directly by parents/guardians while waitlists are open
If you would still like your child to be considered for admission to another program, you can have them waitlisted through MySchools. If a school can make your child a waitlist offer, they will contact you directly.
Accept Your Offer by June 17
We highly encourage you to accept your child’s pre-K offer by June 17, 2022, even if you are hoping for a waitlist offer from another program. Accepting this offer now secures your child’s seat, and it does not affect your child’s chances of getting a waitlist offer to another program later.
After you accept your child’s offer, staff members from the pre-K program you accepted will be in touch with more information about registration, including documents they’ll need from you, and more.
