Ready to get PAID this summer?
If you are a New York City resident between the ages of 14 and 24 and are legally allowed to work in the U.S., you can apply for the City’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), the nation’s largest youth employment service!
SYEP helps City youth get paid work experience and career exploration opportunities throughout July and August. Applying today can get you access to paid entry-level jobs across various industries across the five boroughs, including:
- Arts and Recreation
- Educational Services
- Financial Services
- Healthcare/Medical
- Hospitality/Tourism
- Information Technology
- Manufacturing
- Marketing/Public Relations
- Media/Entertainment
- Real Estate/Property
- Retail
In addition to jobs, SYEP also provides paid project-based activities and workshops regarding job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy, and educational growth. There are even special service options for applicants from particular residential communities, select DOE schools, and other circumstances.
Applying for SYEP
Submit your application online by Friday, May 6, 2022
To apply for SYEP, you must:
- be between the ages of 14 to 24 by July 5, 2022;
- live in New York City; and
- be legally allowed to work in the United States
Internet access is required to participate in SYEP—if you are selected to participate in an SYEP opportunity, but do not have an internet-connected device, including a smartphone, tablet, or computer, please let your provider know.
Gather Your Required Documents
At some point during the SYEP application process, applicants will be asked to provide various documents, including picture ID, proof of address, social security card, working papers (if under 18 years of age), and/or proof of selective service registration (if over the age of 18).
