We did it, everyone—we’ve reached the last day of the 2020–21 school year!

Despite the ongoing challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve finally made it to the finish line—and we could not be any prouder of our students, families, teachers, staff members, and community partners for holding it together over the past year and a half.

In celebration of this historic moment, Chancellor Meisha Porter recorded the following message to honor and celebrate all that our students and families have accomplished since last March:

We are so proud of our students for making it to the end of the school year, and we are incredibly grateful to all the educators, family members, health professionals, building personnel, and community partners who helped make this moment possible. Special shout-out to NYC’s Class of 2021; we can’t wait to see what you do next!

On behalf of the NYC Department of Education, we wish all of our students a wonderful and relaxing summer!

See you back in school on Monday, September 13!
