It’s time for a chat about NYC public schools!
Beginning Monday, May 17, Chancellor Meisha Porter and the NYC Department of Education will be hosting five borough-based digital forums for City public school families and other school community members. These forums, one per borough, will provide you and other school community members the opportunity to talk to DOE leaders about your experiences over the past school year. You’ll also get a chance to discuss your thoughts about the future of NYC public schools, including your ideas about where we should provide additional resources and supports as New York begins to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Family Forum Dates
Five family forums will be held throughout May and June, and all NYC families are invited to participate. Each forum will be an hour and a half in length, and the format will include a Q&A session for the audience. Chancellor Porter will be joined by DOE executive superintendents and other DOE leaders to help answer any questions you and other families may have.
Families can register for each of the forums listed below on our LearnDOE page—this page will be updated often, so check periodically to register for your preferred session. When registering, you will given the chance to submit a question or comment for the event.
Please note that interpretation services will be available for each forum.
