It’s time to see where your fifth grader is going to school next year.
If your family participated in the 2021 Middle School Admissions process earlier this year, we’re happy to report that your middle school offer is now available!
Visit MySchools today to view your offer letter, which will include basic information about your child’s program offer as well as a listing of any schools where your child has been automatically waitlisted (if applicable). If you do not have a MySchools account, or if you previously opted for paper-based notifications, then you should have already received a physical offer letter by mail—please speak to your child’s school counselor or contact a Family Welcome Center for further assistance.
There is nothing you need to do to accept your child’s middle school offer. In addition, note that your child is automatically waitlisted for any program that you listed higher on your 2021 Middle School Application earlier this year.
What’s Next?
If you are satisfied with the offer you’re received, then you’re all set—you won’t need to do a thing to accept your offer. Your child’s new school will contact you in the coming weeks to discuss next steps.
For all others, middle school waitlists are open until mid-August 2021. Viewable through MySchools, waitlists are a way for schools to fill any open seats after offers are released and before the start of the new school year in the fall. Being on a waitlist means that your child does not have an offer to that program. Not all students on waitlists will receive an offer.
Your child is automatically on the waitlist of any program that was listed higher on your child’s middle school application. You may also add your child to other programs’ waitlists through MySchools. If a school decides to offer your child a waitlist offer, you will be contacted directly, and you will then be able to accept or decline the offer through MySchools.

On behalf of the DOE, we congratulate all of our incoming middle school families on their offers, and we wish all of you a smooth registration process in the weeks to come!
