This summer, every New Yorker has access to healthy and nutritious food — no matter who they are or where they live.

Through the NYC Department of Education’s Free Summer Meals program, any New Yorker who needs healthy and nutritious breakfast and lunch this summer can get free “grab & go” meals at over 400 community meal sites across the five boroughs. Sites are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., and no registration, documentation, or identification is required.

As part of our “grab & go” meal options, vegetarian meals are available at all meal sites, and Kosher and Halal options are available at select locations. In addition, you can find “take home and cook” options at our community meal sites that are perfect for cooking in the comfort of your home—your choice of items may vary according to location and availability.

To learn more about the Free Summer Meals program, visit our official webpage and check out GETFOODNYC for meal sites in your neighborhood. You can also textNYC FOOD” or “NYC COMIDA” to 877-877 (text messaging and/or data rates may apply) or call 311 to find sites near you. Just note that all locations, dates, and times are subject to change.

On behalf of the DOE, we wish all New Yorkers a great and healthy summer!
