These days, it’s more important than ever to stay connected with your child’s school.
Thankfully, the NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) is available to keep City families “in-the-know” about NYC public schools and their children’s academic progress!
Available for all parents/guardians of students who attend NYC public schools, NYCSA provides a secure, convenient way for families to track their children’s education from any computer, phone, or tablet device.
Signing up for NYCSA is easy—it takes a few minutes to set up a basic account, which will allow you to begin receiving important notifications from the DOE, including news about school re-openings/closures, deadlines, and more.
For full NYCSA access, you will need to add a current NYC public school student’s information via a unique “creation code” that is generated by your child’s school and provided to all families at the start of the school year. If you do not have a a creation code, you can register your child onto NYCSA either in-person at school (with a valid photo ID and your child’s nine-digit Student ID (OSIS) number), or via teleconference with staff members at your child’s school.
Once you add an NYC public school student to your NYCSA, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of a full account, including:
- Access to your child’s grades for the 2020–21 school year;
- Access to the DOE’s COVID-19 testing consent form, which can be filled out and submitted directly through NYSCA; and
- The ability to share NYCSA access securely with noncustodial adults (i.e. tutors or child care workers).
Please note that no student will be permitted to return to a school building for in-person instruction this school year without a signed consent form for in-school testing;
