*Some notes about this month’s schedule:
Parent-Teacher Conferences
November’s Parent-Teacher Conferences provide families with opportunities to check in on their children’s progress this year. Contact your school’s parent coordinator to verify your school’s parent-teacher conference schedule this month, as some schools may have different conference dates and times.
Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT)
November 2019’s testing dates are ONLY for current Grade 8 and first-time Grade 9 students who previously registered for the 2019 SHSAT by the October 10 deadline and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Are Multilingual Learners; or
- Are students with disabilities who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans that include testing accommodations; or
- Are students taking a make-up test.
For questions regarding eligibility, please speak with a school counselor.
Elementary Admissions Events
Planning to have your child attend elementary school (Grades Pre-K–5) in fall 2020?
In early November 2019, the DOE will host info sessions for families seeking to learn more about the City’s elementary school admissions process, including Gifted & Talented programs. For more information about these events and DOE admissions overall, please visit our Kindergarten Admissions webpage.
That’s all for this month. We hope you have a great November!
