As we begin to prepare for the first day of school on Thursday, September 5, 2019, take a moment to mark some key dates from the upcoming school year, courtesy of the Department of Education’s official 2019–2020 NYC Schools Calendar:

You can check out the 2019–2020 NYC Schools Calendar in multiple ways, including:
- A detailed overview of dates on the DOE website (with translations available via Google Translate);
- Printer-friendly PDFs in nine languages (including Spanish, Chinese, and Urdu); and
- Downloadable .ics files that will allow you to import the NYC Schools Calendar directly into your personal digital calendar (i.e. Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, MS Outlook, etc.)
As you plan for next year, please check with your schools for information about additional dates and events, as they may not be reflected in the DOE’s official 2019–2020 calendar. DOE employees should refer to the City’s 2019–2020 DOE Central Calendar (login required) for important events and holidays that are not reflected on the 2019–2020 NYC Schools Calendar.
