5080_fineamnesty_homepagegraphicWith World Read Aloud Day fresh on our minds, we just wanted to take a moment to remind New York City’s young library card holders to say, “Bye Felicia” to your old book fines and late fees!

Thanks to a generous donation by the JPB Foundation, all kids and teens under 18 with a library card from the New York Public Library, the Brooklyn Public Library, or Queens Library had all of their library fines (and any fine-related blocks) automatically forgiven on October 19, 2017.

So if you’re under 18, what are you waiting for?! Get to your local library and start reading!

Not under 18? No worries; high school students aged 18 and over can still have their fines cleared in person at their local libraries through February 25, 2018.

For more details, visit nyclibraries.org/newstart.

Happy reading!
