High school students should speak with their school counselors to confirm whether they need to take any Regents exams in August.

Are you taking New York State Regents Examinations this August?

This summer, the State’s Regents exams are scheduled on Thursday, August 16, and Friday, August 17.

August’s Regents exams are intended for high school students who have not passed or taken prior administrations of Regents exams. Students who are up-to-date with their high school graduation requirements do not have to participate in this month’s exams.

Students who need to take Regents exams this August should speak with their school counselors or contact the main office of any City high school to learn more.

Regents Exam Schedule: August 2018
Thursday, August 16 8:30 a.m.

  • Algebra I
  • English Language Arts
  • Physical Setting/Chemistry
  • RCT in Writing*

12:30 p.m.

  • Global History & Geography
  • Algebra II
  • RCT in Science*
  • RCT in U.S. History & Government*
Friday, August 17 8:30 a.m.

  • U.S. History & Government
  • Physical Setting/Earth Science
  • RCT in Global Studies*
  • RCT in Mathematics*

12:30 p.m.

  • Geometry
  • Living Environment
  • RCT in Reading*
RCT = Regents Competency Test*RCTs can only be taken by students with disabilities who first entered Grade 9 before September 2011.

Please note that RCTs will no longer be administered by the State after August 2018
