Dear Families:

I hope you had a terrific summer, and that you are as excited about the year ahead as I am. It is a delight to welcome you to the 2018–19 school year.

I was up before my alarm this morning, my mind racing with thoughts about all the incredible things we are going to do together this school year. This is my first full year as your Chancellor, and my focus this year is on the 1.1 million students here in New York City—and my promise to make our public school system the fairest and strongest in the nation.

We hope you have a great start to the new school year!

  3. Happy school year 2018-19. Good evening, my name is Alicea Flynn and I was watching the news on Fox 5. Lisa Evers and the street solders are doing a segment on School Saftey on Friday, September 14th @10:30. The School Safety Union Leader, Gregory Floyd will be one of the panelist. I wanted to know should we have representatives from NYC DOE present like Lashawn Robinson Dep. Chancellor of Cimate & Welness or a Rep. to speak on behalf of the new direction we are going in.
