Over 400 Former NYC Public School Students Participated in the DOE's First Annual Alumni Day

These former students from the Queens High School for the Sciences at York College were among the hundreds of alumni who volunteered for NYC’s first-ever Alumni Day.

With almost 500 volunteers participating at approximately 50 NYC public high schools across the five boroughs, the DOE’s first-ever Alumni Day celebration was a tremendous success!

Thanks to p.s. alumni, former City high school students were able to volunteer to stop by their alma maters on Alumni Day to speak with current students about life after high school. Throughout the day, our alumni visited classrooms and readily answered questions about college life, financial aid, and their careers while also getting the chance to reminisce about “the good old days.”

To get a sense for how the City’s first-ever Alumni Day turned out, take a look at some of our photos below!

On behalf of the DOE, we thank all of our former students who participated in NYC’s first annual Alumni Day!

If you are a graduate of City public schools who would like to participate in opportunities like these, take a moment to register on the p.s. alumni website.
