Now that tax season is here, there’s no time to monkey around.

Now that we are in February, it doesn’t take a prognosticator like Staten Island Chuck to determine that income tax season is upon us.

And with the new federal tax law taking effect this year, we are sure that there are many New Yorkers who are wondering how they will be affected by the new law’s major tax changes.

On Saturday, February 10, the DOE and the NYC Community Schools Initiative are partnering with the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) to hold the City’s first-ever citywide NYC Free Tax Prep-a-Thon.

Stop by for Free NYC Tax Prep in All Five Boroughs on February 10

City residents can seek free tax assistance on February 10 at locations in all five boroughs.

Throughout this special one-day event, City residents across all five boroughs with an annual income of $54,000 or less in 2017 can seek help from IRS-certified VITA/TCE volunteer preparers to claim deductions and credits and file tax returns for FREE.

In addition, Prep-a-Thon attendees may seek FREE one-on-one professional financial counseling and receive FREE eligibility screenings for local, state, and federal health and human service benefits. Each location will also host a resource fair and provide fun activities for kids.
