Since the 2013-14 school year, New York City’s Pre-K for All program has been an absolute game-changer for the City’s four-year olds and their families.
Thanks to the program, thousands of our City’s youngest scholars have been able to obtain free, full day, high-quality early education that sets them up for academic success in the near-future and beyond.
Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received from City families about our pre-kindergarten programs, we are proud to announce that starting on Monday, February 5, families can begin to apply for admission into the City’s pre-k programs for next fall.
Who can apply to pre-k?
- City families with children born in 2014 (aka: four-year olds, or kids who turn four in 2018);
- Students who move to the City during the admissions process;
- Students with disabilities;
- English language learners; and
- Students in temporary housing.
Families will be able to apply for pre-k online, by phone, or in person from February 5 – March 30, 2018, and interpretation services will be available in more than 200 languages for over-the-phone and in person application submissions.
You can also get to know the City’s pre-k options by attending our borough-based Pre-K Admissions Events in February, or by attending open houses hosted by pre-k programs across the five boroughs. To learn more about these pre-k events and open houses, visit our Pre-K Events website.
We look forward to seeing your applications beginning on Monday, February 5!
