Teresa ArboledaNow that the 2017 Community and Citywide Education Council Election season has officially begun, it is time to start learning more about the candidates who are seeking to represent your local school district.

Between now and April 21, learn more about the candidates seeking positions on your local Community Education Council or one of the City’s four Citywide Education Councils by attending your district’s official Candidate Forum.

These forums, which are hosted by each school district’s Presidents’ Council with support from the DOE’s Division of Family and Community Engagement, provide parents with opportunities to get to know the candidates who are seeking to represent their districts. In addition, each forum provides attendees with a better understanding of the City’s CEC election process, which we hope will encourage even more parents to consider running for seats during the next CEC election season in 2019.

There are over 40 candidate forums that have been scheduled between March 20 and April 21. To learn more about your local district’s Candidate Forum, visit our official forum schedule page.
