(Ed. Note: This post has been updated with a new deadline for the Cover Design Challenge: Friday, December 22.)
The DOE’s annual Cover Design Challenge is back.
From now until December 22, City high school students can submit their original cover designs for the DOE’s upcoming 2018–19 NYC High School Directory.
These directories, which are distributed to thousands of middle school students every year, have had their covers designed by winners of previous Cover Design Challenges for the past decade. Last year, over 250 students submitted entries for the competition, and 14 finalists were selected to participate in graphic design workshops and work with design professionals.
The Cover Design Challenge is possible thanks to the DOE’s ongoing partnership with Cooper Hewitt.
For more information about the Cover Design Challenge, including guidelines, consent forms, and graphic design resources, check out the DOE’s Cover Design Challenge website.
Remember: submissions must be received by the DOE by December 22, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
We thank our colleagues at Cooper Hewitt for their ongoing partnership with our schools, and thanks to all who choose to participate in this year’s competition!
