Annnd, just like that, it’s December.

Can you believe it? It seems like only yesterday when we were all getting used to writing/typing “2017;” now, there’s only one more month left before we all have to start adjusting to “2018.”

But fret not, because with December comes all the festivities that New York is known for during the holiday season. So remember to take in the sights across the City, get yourself a bit of some hot cocoa, and check out what is going on in City schools this month, courtesy of the DOE’s official Schools Calendar:

December 2017
Friday, December 1 Last Day to Submit Middle/High School Applications for 2018–19 Admissions
Learn more: Middle Schools/High Schools
Mon., Dec. 25 – Mon., Jan. 1, 2018 Winter Recess
All City schools closed

Some quick notes about this month’s schedule:

  • Kindergarten Admissions

Need to get a child into kindergarten for fall 2018?

Throughout December, DOE elementary schools across the City will be offering open houses to families who are interested in visiting and learning more about the City’s elementary schools.

To learn more about kindergarten admissions, attend an open house near you, and check out our post from November 2017.

Remember though: this year’s kindergarten admissions process ends on January 12, 2018, so mark your calendars and start narrowing down your choices today!

That’s all for this month. We hope you all have a great December!
