DOE’s Office of SchoolFood knows how to serve it up all summer long. Last summer, SchoolFood served 7.5 million+ meals!

New York City’s Free Summer Meals program is back!

This summer, thousands of City kids will be able to eat free and healthy meals at nearly 1,100 sites across the five boroughs.

From June 29 to September 1, everyone 18 years of age or younger can enjoy free breakfast and lunch.

And the best part?

No ID or application will be necessary to receive free meals.

Summer Meals will be served Monday through Friday. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m., and lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. The sites that are offering free summer meals this year include schools, parks, pools, libraries, and food trucks.

This year’s summer breakfast menu includes:

  • whole grain bagels;
  • assorted egg sandwiches;
  • New York yogurt;
  • NY yogurt parfaits;
  • organic cereal and;
  • seasonal fresh fruit.

Our summer menus feature:

  • freshly-made personal flatbread pizzas;
  • 100% beef burgers;
  • classic & BBQ crispy chicken sandwiches;
  • assorted cold wraps;
  • NY apples; and
  • kid-friendly kale salads.

All of our meals exceed the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Nutrition Standards for School Meals.
