Now that June 2017 is just about here, the question on everyone’s mind is:

Where did the time go?

With the 2016–17 school year drawing to a close at the end of June, City schools are now hard at work preparing for graduation, summer school, and even the 2017–18 school year, which kicks off next September on 9/7.

So, with summer fun just around the corner, it is time to check out the DOE’s official Schools Calendar to see what is happening in City schools throughout the month of June.

June 2017
Thursday, June 8 Anniversary Day
(All City schools closed)
Monday, June 12 Clerical day
(No school for NYC elementary & middle school students)
Monday, June 23 NYS Regents rating day
(No school for NYC high school students)
Monday, June 26 Eid al-Fitr
(All City schools closed)
Wednesday, June 28 Last day of school for all City students

Just a quick note about graduation ceremonies this month:

If you would like more information regarding a particular school’s graduation ceremony (i.e., dates, times, tickets, etc), please contact that school’s main office directly.

Likewise, parents who have questions regarding their students’ graduation status should speak directly with their children’s guidance counselors for details.

On behalf of the DOE, we wish all of our students, staff members, and families a wonderful June!
